Heath Muhammad is the esteemed Executive Director at HM Counselor, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the position. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) who earned a Master of Community Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Heath has over 10 years of experience providing mental health services in a range of settings, including outpatient, inpatient hospital, agency, and private practice work. He specializes in working with adults, families, and couples, and has experience helping clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, communication difficulties, men's mental health, anger management, and life changes. Heath is known for his down-to-earth personality, great sense of humor, and relatable character. He employs an eclectic methodology, utilizing various theoretical approaches and real-life experiences to build rapport and trust with his clients. He encourages authenticity, non-judgmental and realness in the therapeutic process, creating a safe space for clients to be vulnerable.
Monica Hammond Consultant
Monica Hammond is a seasoned business strategist and consultant with over 15 years of varied experience from operations to event planning. However, her true passion lies in promoting mental health and well-being. A native from Flint, Michigan, Monica is no stranger to limited resources, barriers to education, and other obstacles that plague lower-income communities. This background was critical in her specialization of identifying the underlying causes of challenges and developing actionable plans.
By prioritizing mental well-being, Monica ensures that practitioners have the resources they need to thrive. Her unique perspective recognizes the importance of mental health in organizational success. She believes that integrity should guide every individual and business, as everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

Marlo Farias Administrator Manager
Marlo Farias is a highly experienced and accomplished professional who currently serves as the Office Manager at HM Counselor, having joined the firm in 2018. With a career spanning over two decades, Marlo has a diverse background in the medical field, including 24 years of experience in billing insurance. Prior to joining HM Counselor, she worked as an Office Manager at an outpatient drug rehab facility for four years. Additionally, Marlo has 19 years of experience as an optometric/ophthalmic technician.
Marlo was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and takes great pride in her hometown. She earned an Associate Degree in Addiction Counseling, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Outside of work, Marlo enjoys spending time with her 11-year-old son, who brings her much joy. She is an avid reader and music lover, and also enjoys watching TV shows in her free time. With her extensive experience and education, Marlo is a valuable asset to the HM Counselor team.
Rebecca Carmona Administrator Assistant
Rebecca Carmona is an experienced professional who joined HM Counselor in August 2022 as a Medical Biller and Credentialing Specialist. With over 25 years of experience in the medical billing field, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. In addition to her billing experience, Rebecca has also handled various administrative duties throughout her career.
As a native Austinite, Rebecca has a deep connection to her community and takes great pride in her hometown. She enjoys spending time with her family, particularly her sons, and loves to read and listen to music in her free time.
With her extensive background and passion for the work she does, Rebecca is an integral part of the HM Counselor team, ensuring that all medical billing and credentialing matters are handled with the utmost professionalism and accuracy.
